Recital Homework–Coming Soon! It’s recital preparation time. If you are a student, teacher or parent, you have many questions about recitals. On the next CMajor Radio Show, CMajor will cover this topic as much as possible. In the meantime, consider picking pieces by composer name and based on distinctive features, i.e. genre, period, structure and style :
Verdi; J.C. Bach; Beethoven; Gurlitt; Khachaturian; Mozart; Jeremiah Clarke; Smetana; Holst; Handel; J.S. Bach; Tchaikovsky; Saint-Saens; Clementi…to name a few.
Of course there are many other composers you can choose from. Also, in the past,
students have performed pieces by anonymous composers and arrangements of spirituals which all seem to program very well in a recital setting.
