Simple Classical Melodies: Teaching by Color

The following pieces were discussed in today’s episode of the CMajor Radio Show.  Thank you for listening!  I’m sharing Apple Music links to some of the world’s finest musicians playing piano and orchestral versions of these tunes.*  You may extract the melodies to learn to play them using the play-by-color method we’ve been talking about on the show.  The keys may be different, but you may recognize the tunes.  Happy coloring!

Prelude F. Chopin

Spring Song F. Mendelssohn

Largo from New World Symphony A. Dvorak

*Note: For some summer reading and research, check out references to Antonin Dvorak’s New World Symphony on p.268 of the following music textbook–The Music of Black Americans: A History, Third Edition by Eileen Southern. You may read about the history of the “Largo” movement by Dvorak found there and on other pages of this book.
